In this limited space workshop you will learn to make a small bushcraft style knife from an old saw blade. You will choose from three different designs, loosely based on traditional puukka or bushcraft knives. Although based in traditional styles your knife will be one of a kind.

All materials and tools needed are included. Absolutely no experience needed.

We will cut the blade blank with a plasma cutter and a grinder. We will soften the steel to shape it, grind the bevels and cut holes for pins. We will then reharden the knife edge and temper jt. Now we are ready to attach the handle blanks, peen the pins, grind a comfortable grip and finish. Finally you will learn to put a stupid sharp edge on your new one of a kind hand made knife. This blade will last a lifetime and serve you well.

You can add making a larger companion survival knife and sheath making to this workshop as private lessons that will take place at your own pace during our open shop hours. These extra lessons can only be added to the pukka knife workshop.

Workshop kicks off with an orientation and planning session on the second Saturday every month at 6:30 PM till 8 PM. This is a multiple session workshop with a floating schedule which is determined based on group progress. Typically it is concluded within 4-6 weeks and we work with students who have schedule conflicts by allowing access to workshops the following months if necessary, or by making up missed sessions in open shop hours.

Our address is 4450 N Galvez, contact us with any questions using the link in the navigation bar. Ask us about group discounts for 3 or more people.
